Ingredients:
- 8 ounces (225 grams) spaghetti
- 4-5 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh basil leaves, torn
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; cook about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add diced tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and cook 10-15 minutes until they break down.
4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat.
5. Remove from heat and mix in torn basil.
6. Serve with grated Parmesan, if desired.
